What is collected

When you sign in with GitHub, Founder Forecast stores your GitHub handle, display name, the email address on your GitHub account, and your avatar URL. When you post a commitment it stores the product name, product URL, target revenue, deadline, and later the outcome you record.

Why

The handle, name and avatar identify you on your public commitments and profile. The email address is used to recognise your account on sign-in and to contact you about your account if something goes wrong. Nothing is sold, and there is no advertising or analytics tracking on this site.

Who else sees it

Your handle, commitments and hit/miss record are public — that is the product. Your email address is not shown anywhere on the site. The data sits in a Postgres database hosted by Neon and the site runs on Vercel; both process it on our behalf as service providers.

How long

Commitments stay published as a permanent public record while your account exists. You cannot edit or delete an individual commitment, because a record you can quietly rewrite is worthless. You can delete your whole account, which removes your commitments with it.

Your rights and how to use them

Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023 you can ask for access to the personal data held about you, ask for it to be corrected, withdraw your consent, and ask for your account and data to be deleted. Email saswatmarpureddy@gmail.com from the address on your GitHub account, or mentioning your GitHub handle, and it will be actioned within 30 days.

Founder Forecast is run by an individual in India, who is the data fiduciary for this site and is reachable at the same address for any grievance.

Cookies

One cookie, set after you sign in, which keeps you signed in. There are no advertising or tracking cookies. Signing out removes it.
